The Venue

RCW 139 is moving this year! Our host hotel will be the Courtyard Toronto Downtown, ideally located on Yonge Street right in the heart of Toronto (and not very far away from were previous RCW 139 conventions were held).

The Courtyard Toronto Downtown is the world's largest full-service Courtyard hotel, and features updated accommodations with cozy reading chairs, mini-refrigerators, large windows, ample desks, and free Wi-Fi. Many rooms benefit from sleeper sofas and balconies with views of Toronto. RCW 139 attendees can take advantage of the hotel's indoor lap pool, 24-hour fitness center, and delicious American-style cuisine at The Bistro. The downtown setting in the heart of Church & Wellesley allows guests to easily explore city center destinations, including Yonge-Dundas Square, The Village, the CN Tower, and Massey Hall.

Booking a Room

We have a block of rooms reserved at the Courtyard Toronto Downtown for 25, 26, and 27 July 2019, at a special rate of $189/night. Note that after our allotment of rooms is gone, there is no guarantee that we will be able to get more rooms at the same price, therefore it is best to book early.

For those wishing to stay a few extra days and visit the attractions around Toronto, the special rate will also be valid up to 3 days prior to, and up to 3 days after the convention (22 July - 1 August 2019), although RCW 139 does not have rooms blocked off for the extra days. Reservations for these dates will be first-come first-serve, and subject to availability. The special rate will allow you to book either a room with one King size bed or two Queen size beds. All rooms are non-smoking.

Please note that in 2010, 2012, and 2014 our block of rooms was sold out on some days and we can't guarantee that extra rooms will be available if this is the case again.

Getting to the Courtyard Toronto Downtown

From Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ):

  • By taxi - You can take a taxi from the ground transportation (lowest) level. This will set you back approximately $65, and can take from 20 minutes to 45 minutes or longer, depending on traffic.

  • By bus/subway - Buses also pick up at the ground transportation level. The quickest way to get to the hotel is to take bus route 900 Airport Express to Kipling station, and then hop on the subway. Exit at the Yonge station, and connect to the Yonge line south, then exit at College. The hotel is a 2 minute walk from the subway exit. This should take approximately an hour. The cost is only $3.25, as you can transfer without charge from the bus to the subway.

  • By Union Pearson Express (UP Express) - More convenient than the bus/subway and less expensive than a taxi, our favourite way to get downtown is the UP Express, a train link from the airport to dowtown Toronto. The UP Express departs from the fifth floor of the Terminal 1 parking garage (follow the signs - it is very well marked). Take the UP Express from the airport to Union station. Once you arrive at Union Station, connect to the subway (look for the "TTC" signs, again it is well marked) and take the Yonge line towards Finch. Exit at College and walk 2 minutes to the hotel. The UP Express costs $12.35 for a one way adult fare, and the subway fare will add another $3.25.

From Union Station:

  • By subway - Take the subway towards Finch and exit at the College station. $3.25, about 5 minutes.

Please note that in 2010, 2012, and 2014, our block of rooms was sold out on some days and we can't guarantee that extra rooms will be available if this is the case again. We therefore encourage you to book early!
