I just picked up the Goodie Bag from post office. It had to wait a bit because I was on vacation, but it is really amazing. It passed my expectations. I have no words. Oh dear. Fantastic. Thank you kindly.
What a wonderful convention! Kudos to Stephane, John, Brent and Sarah. After kicking off the event with a visit from Paul Gross himself, I thought the rest of the convention would be a letdown. But it was all great fun! The guests were all interesting and friendly and it was a lot of fun meeting up with 'due SOUTH' fans from all over the world. Jay Semko singing the 'due SOUTH' theme for us was a definite highlight, but really the weekend was filled with highlights. I enjoyed meeting all of you and I look forward to seeing you again! Thanks again to the organizing committee for all your hard work and thanks especially to Ramona Milano and Whizbang Films for donating so many items to the auction.
I really wish I could have gone for all 3 days (ran out of bus fare, oops!) but days 1 & 2 were amazing!! So much fun, and the guests were all so exuberant & so obviously happy to be there. I'm pretty sure all the attendees are going to leave this convention with the happiest of memories -- I know I have!! :-)
I'm such a procrastinator and been so busy that the convention slipped my mind. I didn't realize today was the last day for sign up. Too bad there aren't any small t-shirts left, oh well. Paid for the convention and now I'm set. Can't wait for August and meeting everyone!
Hello!
I've been lurking about, checking your updates on the convention for a while now. I was a fan of DS when it was first on and was delighted to find it on DVD. When I discovered there was a convention, I was pleasantly surprised! Alas, because of financial woes, I am unable to attend, but I did pick up a supporting membership yesterday. Hoping for many more, and that I can someday meet all of you fellow dedicated Duesers!
Question regarding seating arrangments for viewing guest panels. Will seating be on a "first come first served" basis? In 1999 for Paul Gross' guest panel, tickets were handed out amongst attendees (many of those who had waited in line at the doors for quite some time in order to get a "good seat"), therefore a "lottery" draw was performed for seating for the Paul's guest panel
Hi! Thank you kindly for following me on Twitter. I attended a Convention in 1999 and have been dying to get to another, maybe it will be this year! Due South was the one show my entire family watched together and we were devastated when it went off the air. We still watch the DVD's but being with other fans at the Convention is the best. Hope to see you all soon. ps I hate that that cancelled Eastwick too!
Hi, my husband and I really want to attend this convention! Am working on pricing it all out now and hope to commit shortly. Question though: is anyone else bringing small children? We have a 7 year old daughter, and our son will be turning 4 just before the convention. We'd like to make a family trip out of it and stay a few extra days, but don't want to be the only ones there with small children, and have our kids be bored out of their minds either.
Thoughts?
Also, is there going to be a trolley/bus tour of Toronto for us whom have never been there before? Heard there was one in 2008. Thanks.
I was just looking at my pics from '98's RCW 139 A Cop, A Mountie & A Convention.
That was a fantastic time! I remember laughing so hard at David Marciano's dramatic reading of the winner of the Bad Fanfic contest! And the bus tour of the filming sites was wonderful. All the panels, events, guests and other fans made it the best fan convention I've ever been to!
I still have my commemorative coffee mug and t-shirt and car license plate!
Would really enjoy being there and will at least grab a supporting membership if we can't make it up! Great show and nice to see so many active fans that keep up the interest in the show.
So excited to see everyone in Toronto again!! Melanie, we'll be looking to hang out!! Can't wait to see what happens this year, I'm so very happy this is going on again. Doug, Kells & I (hopefully mom this time) will be there with bells on!!
